  1. I think even these vanilla protests are a fair way to take the temperature of the public, no? We shouldn’t be complacent with them, of course, but I think these mass protests might give people the confidence to reach further. Maybe noise is a prerequisite to action. No one will act if they feel alone.

    That said, I’m not sure what the transition from words to action would be in this instance. “No Kings” made no demands.
